Acrylic
Brand Names : Plexiglass, Acrylite, Plaskolite, etc
Acrylic (or plexiglass) is a hard polymer-based plastic (pmma) that is lightweight and easy to cut. Often compared to glass for its transparency, it is however 20x more resistant to shocks than glass.
Acrylic can be made by CAST (cast) or extruded (by press), but in both cases, it is always protected with a film or paper wrap. It has good resistance to bad weather as well as UV rays which makes acrylic an excellent choice for outdoor use.
Acrylic allows:
-
Table saw cut
-
CNC cut
-
Laser cut
-
Folding
-
Assembled and glued
-
Engraving
-
Printing
-
Polishing
Sheets are available in a wide variety of sizes, thicknesses, colors and finishes. Acrylic is also available in rod or tube of various sizes.
